Lac du Coron is only 1 minute drive from a lovely little village with bar, pizza restaurant, Tabac and bakers. Two minutes the other way is a basic but traditional hotel and more bars and restaurants as well as a small supermarket. Eight minutes drive away there is a much bigger town full of all the usual bars, restaurants and Tabacs and even a small tackle shop as well as a huge supermarket, so you will not struggle to get all the things you need.

 

It is hard to know where to start when suggesting 'other' things to do when visiting Lac du Coron, one of the reasons we chose this area was the fact that it is not quite as sleepy as many areas of France. Don't get me wrong you will still feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but within a short drive of the lake there are hundreds of things to do.

 

Lac du Coron is only 30 minutes south of the Loire Valley, so not far at all from one of the biggest most gorgeous tour attractions in France. Because of all these visitors the area has theme parks, water parks, bustling city's like Nantes, Cholet, Tours and Poitiers, stunning chateau, beautiful rivers, Zoo's, campsites, beaches, Michelin star restaurants and much much more,

 

So in short, if you want a day away from the lake there are literally countless things for you to do.
