Winter Success & winter Ticket 2019/2020 Season
As many of you will have seen on our Facebook page it has been another busy winter, lots of tree felling, path building, reed planting, stock pond digging, new swim designs, bridge building and much more. As a result my fishing time has been limited, but over the last few weeks I have managed to get out on the bank and prove how exciting fishing during the winter months can be at Lac Du Coron. I have managed 2 x 15 hour over nighters and an afternoon with the rods out whilst

The ghosty common hits 40.
In February 2016 I made this fishes acquaintance at 29lbs. A little under 3 years later I was super pleased to see her go over the net and when we peered in we could clearly see she had piled on the weight and looked big. Together we zeroed the scales and hoisted her up and watched the needle spin round and settle on exactly 40lbs. A double Milky Amino bottom bait fished over a kilo of matching freebies were the downfall of this cracker. Well angled Dean, #coronvibe #2018seas

It has been another great weeks fishing at Lac Du Coron.
Carl and Wayne had the lake to themselves and fished really well to have an awesome haul of carp!
The guys started in in The Double and went heavy on night one putting in over 20kg of whole and chopped boile. Maybe not surprisingly Saturday night went by uneventfully, as did most of Sunday, but late Sunday afternoon the bites started to come, and they came thick and fast from then on.
On Tuesday Carl moved into Rolo's from the Left Hand Double to ensure the fish didn't st

'The last few weeks has seen our best results to date since we opened.'
The last few weeks has seen our best results to date since we opened two and a half years ago, with more than 60 fish banked. The fish are seriously fit and healthy and putting your tackle and your arms under serious strain! The lake is producing the blend of fish I want it too, a mix of scaly stunners and big chunks, not just the grey gut buckets that can often be associated with France. #carparticle #fishingphotography #carpcatchreport #mirrorcarp #commoncarp #Frenchcarpfis

A few photos from my morning walk
It occurred to me that I don't do enough photography, in fact recently its been non existent, there’s always something to do so when wou

June 9th - 16th 2018, rain, carp, rain and more carp!
Well what a week that was, 3 days of rain with one day that was truely biblical! In 8 hours we had 90mm or rain and the lake came up withing 20 minutes, the pipe was opened again and we worked hard to get the level down as quickly as possible. From a fishing point of view the week started oddly, the temperature dropped and the fish started spawning, not all of them but a few. That didn't stop the fish getting on the munch though as the bites started almost immediately. Even w

Life after spawning!
There is a reason we call March/April and early May 'clubbing season' is pretty easy to understand with big carp from all over Europe on social media and in the magazines. As they wake up from their winter slumber it always takes them a month or so to be totally on ther guard. But after spawning in my exoeriance things always change after winter, banker baits, colours and methods often seem to become redundant and new baits and methods are called for, it always seems a tad tr

Fun in the sun
The great start to the season continues... It has been a funny old spring at Lac Du Coron like it has in many places across Europe. A few days or a week of 30 degree temperatures swiftly followed by a week of below average 14/15 degree temperatures and very chilly nights.
I would have expected these conditions to have really hampered the fishing, but with good anglers visiting us so far this year the bites have kept coming even in tricky conditions. These sharp spikes in te

April gets off to a great start!
With a few days left of the week I wanted to do a little update on Matt, Dan and Adam's week so far. Thursday is my day off so it is a good opportunity to get a little update done. Unfortunately we had a very sad loss in the family late last week so I will be back in the UK for a short while so this may be the last blog for a week or two. Ok, so this is the lads first visit to Lac Du Coron and like it does most newcomers it took them a day or so to get to understand the lake
